L.A. GUNS: New Bassist Announced
April 2, 2007L.A. GUNS has recruited HOOKERS 'N' BLOW's Scott Griffin as the replacement for the recently departed bassist Adam Hamilton.
In an exclusive interview with Glam-Metal.com, Griffin explained how he landed his new job: "Stacey (Blades, L.A. GUNS guitarist) basically got me the gig. I knew him through Mike Duda from W.A.S.P. The three of us did a one-off gig with Jizzy Pearl and Chris Slade at the Key Club. I was playing guitar. Stacey almost didn't ask me because he knows of me as a guitar player. But I had been telling him that I've been getting a lot of gigs playing bass. Then Adam dropped the news and luckily for me Stacey remembered that I play bass too and called me."
Asked if he is a big fan of L.A. GUNS, Griffin replied, "I've always been a big fan. I was born and raised in L.A. and L.A. GUNS always represented that Hollywood street vibe in their image and music more than any other band. I'm dating myself, but I wore out two 'Cocked & Loaded' cassettes back in the day. And I had the debut album on vinyl on the original Vertigo label, if I remember correctly."
